The prisons and police cells we visited included among others Wandegeya Police Station Which receives an average of 45 suspects per day and has a staff team of around 300 police men and women, Jinja road police station which receives an average of 60 suspects and has 245 staff, Namugongo police post which receives an average of 6 suspects daily and has 30 staff, Kasangati prison which has 248 prisoners with 56 staff.

We plucked out teeth and treated  79 people giving services like scaling, extraction, dental sensation and referrals at a free cost at Bulenga. This took place on the 14th of February 2019.

During the first week, our emphasis as teachers is to teach principles in bible observation and interpretation. We are now studying the book of Galatians.

The Old Testament class also started with 14 students. In this class, we have started with the introduction and overview of the old testament, and here we are now studying the book of Genesis.

We also visited seeta police station twice ministering to 76 suspects and 12 gave their lives to christ, which we are so grateful for.

Please note that at both stations, we were not allowed to take any photos and we only managed to take them outside the premises.

C-TBS Preparations

January and February, different staff members visit churches to talk about the training and recruit .and the recruitment exercise has gone on well.

The first weekend of march, we will be starting the O.T class at Bweyogerere Gods centre of Blessings church and the N.T class at Mukono D.C church.

Intro C-TBS in Church2

Dan speaking and sharing at Deliverance Church about the School.

We have also held several administrative/prayer meetings in preparation (twice a week).

By this time, different staff know who is teaching which book and when.

For each staff, we allow time to personally prepare themselves, start reading through/preparing especially the books they are going to teach.

Discipleship training/Bible study still remains as a key need to the church in Uganda today, And we thank you for standing with us in this field of ministry.

We appreciate your prayers, words of encouragement and financial support.

Thank you so much.

A good number of schools across the country have continued giving us open invitations to share Christ with the children / Students and CMM members have maintained that every month visiting one or two schools and share Christ with the students and teachers and we have witnessed positive plus encouraging results. Many are regularly giving their lives to Christ.

In June this year (2018), a team from CMM visited Global high school, a secondary school that has a population of 874 students. We shared with the students about the compelling love of Christ.

2. CMM Children’s Ministry.

Christian Model Ministries has continued reaching out children in different communities over time. In the month of August, we conducted a children’s outreach ministry in a Kampala slum called Katanga. This Slum is a settlement located in the valley between Mulago Hospital and Makerere University, in Uganda’s capital city, Kampala. It is defined by quite a number of challenges including many single mothers, many people living with HIV among others.

We had about 70 kids whom we shared the word of God, prayed with and also gave out snacks and clothes.

Our team in the month of August Visited the 2 years, 5 months old triplets that we as CMM have support right from the time of birth since their mother was financially constrained. We managed to give them some soap, Bread, baking flour. We also took time to pray for then and shared the word of God with their mother.

The children are healthy and in good shape, thanks to God and all that have managed to send in support.

3.  CMM Prisons Ministry.

CMM has continued with the monthly visits to different prisons, which ministry has seen very many souls turn to Christ. We have always given out a few bibles to some inmates and prison wardens that are able to read them. In the month of September, we visited three police cells where we attended to a total of 56 suspect with words of encouragement, preached to them and prayed with them as well. 18 gave their lives to Christ 3 of whom were Muslims. Here we were not permitted to take any photos as it is at times the rule.

In June 2018, CMM received a donation of 100 Bibles in 3 different languages English, Lunyankole and Lukiga. This gave us the opportunity to put Bibles in places where they have always been requested especially for the inmates (prisoners)to read during their free times and also encourage each other with the word of God. We gave Bibles to Kasangati prison, Butalejja  prison, Mbarara prison, Buikwe prison, Buwambo prison, Rukunjiri prison, Ntungamo prison, Kakiika prison, Kira road police post .

4. The Bible training school (C-TBS).

4th November was the graduation of the 17 students who completed the Old Testament at Deliverance church Mukono. The 17 students are from four different churches.

11th-November was the graduation for the New Testament class at God’s center of blessings church Bweyogerere. 24 students from 6 different churches successfully completed and were awarded certificates.

grad

Both occasions were filled with joy and excitement, the students usually invite their close relatives and friends to witness this powerful achievement and afterwards the graduates, teachers and other guests share a meal together as part of celebrating the achievement

Testimonies

Each of the students has a powerful story / testimony to share. Most especially the pastors have confessed that their approach in preparing and presenting their sermons (messages) has been so much changed having gone through the training.

All the students including those who have been ministering for over 10 years tell that this is the first time they are reading and getting a good understanding of the scriptures.

Biblical studies

One of the key challenges we face today as the church in Uganda and Africa at large is the teaching of the “prosperity gospel”. This kind of teaching does not put emphasis on discipleship training. The inductive approach in bible study courses has a big role it plays in discipling the church thus proving an answer to the key need in our church today.

grad2

And now we start looking forward to the 2019 bible training classes that are scheduled to start mid-March. Please keep praying with us as we start the planning and recruiting the students.

We as CMM are very thankful to the Lord for being part of what He is doing in the nation. We thank all our supporters and prayer partners. Your role in these ministries is key. Thank you very much.

CMM December Update

There is a lot that has been happening in the past few months and here are some of the activities that CMM has been involved in:

The bible training school (C-TBS):

C-TBS Bweyogerere

Graduation of the NT and OT classes conducted at “God’s center of blessings church” at bweyogerere

mukono

Graduation of the NT class conducted at Mukono Deliverance Church.

19 NT students graduated from 5 different churches at Mukono Deliverance church.

We had 12 NT students and 26 OT students in
the two classes at God’s center of blessings Bweyogerere . This bunch is from 8 different churches.

We have had a very good combination of students. Young and Senior
ministers (Pastors). Some have been Pastors for more than 15 years
well as others are upcoming ministers. Some are highly educated well
as others have a very basic eduacation. But the Word of God cuts
across the board, Each of our graduants has a very strong and powerful
testimony to give.

Many especially those who have been Pastors for a long time mentioned
in their verbal testimonies that they have been ministering but with a
very minimal understanding of the scriptures. Some had read other
things, books etc but had not taken such a time to concentrate on
studying the scriptures.

We have had very many encoureging testimonies  each of our students.
This course as they have been testifying has  also provided  a big
platform for their future Bible studies.

It is such abig opportunity to be part of part of what God is doing in
the lives and ministries of these individuals. And there is no dought
that as they continue in their various ministries, they will have a
grater impact in their churches and communities.

Dental Outreach/Medical Camp:
On the 16th/November/2017, In partnership with mulago hospital and kawempe worship center, CMM conducted a “dental outreach” with a team of 13 dentists, 119 people were treated (given dental care), 40 people gave there lives to christ.

Among the activities were, Dental Sensitisation & treatment, Prayer & counciling.

dental

One of the dental patients being treated

Hospital and Prison Ministry:
CMM has continued with the weekly visits to hospitals and prisons, we pray with, council, and at times give out items like sugar, soap, etc to some needy individual patients.

Through this ministry, 86 people have come to receive Christ in the last two months.

We are very grateful to all our partners in this ministry, thanks a lot for your prayers and financial support.

CMM June Update

We the CMM team in Uganda are always thankful for your prayers and
encouragement.

The Child Sponsorship:
All the sponsored children are back to school  including five new entrants whose details and photos we shall include in our next report.

The parents and children are always thankful. There are still a lot of needy children and it is in our prayers that CMM will, in the near future, through the children’s village Buyuki Project, be able to take in as many needy children as able.

The C-TBS:
This year, we are running three Bible classes at two different locations.
20170424_165955-1
We are running two NT classes. One at Mukono Deliverance Church with 19 students (ministers and pastors) from five different churches. And at Bweyogerere, (God’s Center of Blessings Church) eleven students from four different Churches.

The OT class at Bweyogerere has 27 students from seven different Churches. Running three schools is a bit of a challenge as we have always been running one or two. But at the same time, it is such a blessing that pastors and church ministers are able to receive the basic Bible training at their locations and continue with their usual responsibilities at home, work, and at church.

CMM teams visit two or three prisons once a week to pray  with and encourage the prisoners. They visit hospitals at least once a week to pray with the sick.

God has been so good and we are so thankful for the prayers and support.

God bless,
Dan/ CMM Team

New Year Mega Crusade in Buteleja EOY 2016

The CMM Mission Team to Buteleja for the Mega Crusade

The CMM Mission Team to Buteleja for the Mega Crusade

Dear Friends,

A happy New Year to you all. This is a brief report on what we at CMM were involved in near and at the end of 2016.

I have to confess that I was supposed to send this earlier but I have been caught up with many things since the year started.

We did the C-TBS Bible class graduation, involving 64 church ministers from thirteen different churches, who completed the NT course in the inductive approach in Bible study. We had two classes running concurrently.

Students (Participants) spoke highly of the course. Our culture is mostly referred to as a non-reading culture, but this course puts a lot of emphasis on personal research of the scriptures.

People come to the classes expecting a lot of lectures, but end up doing more reading than ever. We had many encouraging testimonies from the graduants.

The major program following, was the end of year mission in Butalejja. This too was very exciting and ended up successful.

CMM Praise and Worship in Butelejja

CMM Praise and Worship in Butelejja

The activities we got involved in were, open air gospel meetings, prayer and individual counseling every morning, visits to the prison to share the gospel, and a good meal with the prisoners.

We also spent time in prayer and intercession for the Butalejja region, as well as ministering to the children and giving out cloth to those who were very needy.

We baptized 27 people among those that gave their lives to Christ.

Richard ministering in a prison in Buteleja.

Richard ministering in a prison in Buteleja.

More than 300  people gave their lives to Christ, and they joined the nearby churches. The prison was very exciting as all the prisoners we met (Excluding the few who were already born again) gave their lives to Christ. Among those was a Muslim ‘Imam’. It was good to leave the prison full of born again Christians.

We are so grateful to the Lord for the prayers and encouragement we have gotten from all our supporters.

We shall soon send out the outline of our 2017 CMM plans.

Thank you so much for your contributions toward what the Lord is doing in Uganda.

God bless,

Dan Muwanguzi and the CMM Team
