I am happy to report that Dan Muwanguzi has safely returned to Uganda, after a flight from Victoria to Vancouver, then to Heathrow London where he stayed for 23 hours, and then to Kompala Uganda.
Dan’s family missed him dearly as he was away in Victoria BC for 7 weeks. That’s a very long time when you have a young family, but his work in Victoria was very important for establishing connections and building momentum for his new ministry Christian Model Ministries.
Upon returning to Uganda, Dan has connected with family and friends, and updated his church Searchlight of God of his Victoria trip and next plans.
Dan is happy to be home, but life in Uganda can be really challenging. Jonathan, Dan’s 10 year old son has Malaria, which was medically dealt with and Jonathan is better. And now, his wife Miriam has Malaria too, when she’s almost ready to give birth. This is very worrisome and hard on the family both emotionally and financially.
Beyond family matters, Dan does make the rounds to very poor families in need, handing out gifts and supplies brought back with him from Canada.

The boys living in the village get many hours playing with a soccer ball brought back from Canada. One soccer ball is given to a local church for their youth group.
Also, now that Dan is back in Uganda, he starts working with his local church called The Searchlight of God church, in Kompala Uganda. Dan is an elder in the church, and he helps with preaching, teaching, and planning.

Giving the update to Searchlight of God on his Victoria BC trip and planning with the elders and deacons.
One thing to plan is what Dan calls a “Mega Crusade”. This is a teaching and evangelism campaign where Dan and other leaders and 200 ministers from their local district teach and pray together in the mornings and do mission work and evangelism to local school, hospitals, and jails. This happens from December 28th to the 31st, and then New Years Eve everyone stays up all night singing, worshiping, praying, celebrating and dedicating the New Year to God.
Dan is very excited about this Mega Crusade and we’ll be pleased to provide the update on this website … stay tuned.

A new room … building an office for Christian Model Ministries on the side of Dan’s house. This new office will provide a base of operations and for planning and administrative support.
One last thing to mention, at a branch congregation for Searchlight of God church in Uganda, Dan teaches Sunday school. At this local church many very poor Ugandans come to worship. A young boy named Douglas attends the church, and Dan has become very close with Douglas. Unfortunately, Douglas is blind and his father has disowned him. Douglas is the only child in his family that attends church and Douglas only form of education is at his church. Douglas does not attend elementary school.
Support for Christian Model Ministries enables Dan and his team to sponsor children to get education, sponsor unemployed youth and women get vocational skills, and sponsor Christian pastors to get much needed Scripture teaching and training so they can be more effective in their Christian duties.
Prayer Requests:
- Pray for Dan’s pregnant wife Miriam dealing with Malaria and delivering with C-Section soon.
- Pray for Douglas and his family situation and that God will provide support for Douglas and impoverished children like him.
- Pray for the Mega Crusade and that this effort will be well coordinated, Spirit empowered, guided, and impactful.
Thank you for reading this post and we appreciate your interest and support in Dan, Uganda, and Christian Model Ministries.
Cordially,
James DeGreef
